Job summary

Qualifications

• Specialized experience means knowledge of properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities.
• For GS-05, at least 52 weeks of qualifying experience in meat, poultry, eggs, or other ingestible substances.
• Education may qualify in lieu of some experience per the standards for GS levels.

Responsibilities

• Inspect establishments to ensure SSOP/HACCP regulatory compliance.
• Review records and observe operations to document noncompliance.
• Explain regulatory requirements to plant managers and discuss corrective actions.
