Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a Meat Department Clerk in Sellersburg, IN. You will perform general clean-up, stock work, and provide excellent customer service while upholding company values.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, handling transactions, maintaining product quality and safety, and keeping areas organized. Weekend and holiday availability is required; prior food retail experience is preferred.

• Must be able to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and carefully operate all production equipment.

• Previous experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and associates.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality; ensure freshness and safety.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
• Keep floors clean and free from clutter.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures and applicable laws.
• Operate cash register per procedures.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict calmly and cooperatively.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
