PW Retail Foods LLC operates a Meat Department role at Piggly Wiggly in Milwaukee, WI. The Meat Manager directs meat operations, ensuring safety, sanitation, scheduling, and training of staff to meet store goals.

You will manage orders, maintain product quality, and enforce company policies while achieving financial targets and maintaining a clean, compliant department environment.

• Maintain sanitary work environment and complete paperwork.
• Select, train, develop, and schedule Meat associates.
• Perform tasks as assigned by Store Manager.

The Meat Manager is responsible for directing and supervising all functions and activities of Meat Department personnel to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department; to ensure that the work shifts of all department personnel contribute to the financial best interests of the store.

Description

• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Meat operations, safety, and sanitation
• Responsible for achieving financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense
• Take customer orders accurately for product
• Fulfill weekly orders in accordance with store policy to ensure adequate supply levels
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
• Maintain and enforce a clean work environment to ensure sanitary conditions
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Meat Department
• Selection, training, development and scheduling of Meat associates
• Perform tasks as assigned by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager

• Specialized Knowledge : Knowledge of meat and different cuts of meat
• Special Skills :
• Physical abilities: : Accurate vision; Occasional amounts of sitting, climbing, stooping, and feeling; Constant amounts of standing, lifting/carrying loads up to 100 lb, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and crouching;Frequent amounts of walking, pushing/pulling loads up to 80 lb, and exposure to temperatures down to 35 degrees
• Other: : Operation of Knives, Patty Machine, Grinder, Wrapping Machine, Computerized Scales, High Pressure Cleaner, Cubing Machine, Baller/Compactor, Bandsaw, Pallet Jack, Walkie Stacker;
• Other: : Ability to read, write, perform basic math functions, and basic computer skills

Years Of Experience

• 2-5 : Retail/Meat Dept experience required including knowledge of meat and different cuts of meat
