Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Meat Department leader at our Normandy Park location. You will plan, organize, train and direct Meat department associates, perform production and customer service duties, and drive store sales while upholding our core values of respect, integrity and safety.

Responsibilities include coaching staff, maintaining temperature logs, staffing decisions, budgeting input, and implementing company initiatives in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make intelligent decisions quickly.
• Able to handle stressful situations calmly with a positive impression.
• Production, merchandising and customer service related to food prep and sale.
• Understanding of department operations and safety practices.
• Meat work experience or similar food preparation background.

Responsibilities

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy and implementation of all company policies.
• Keep temperature logs updated and train staff on accurate logging.
• Price and display merchandise; ensure signage, rotation, freshness, quantity and space allocation.
• Provide input on department budgets, goals and results.
• Train and develop Meat department employees emphasizing customer service and productivity.
• Implement company programs and adhere to policies, maintaining a harassment-free environment.
• Make recommendations on hiring, firing, disciplining, demoting, transferring and evaluating staff.
• Promote and implement company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
