Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Meat department associate to perform general clean-up, stock work, and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet customers, monitor temperatures, keep products fresh and safe, and ensure proper signage, rotation, and space allocation for merchandise while following company policies and health regulations.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multitask, set priorities, present information professionally and collaborate with all levels.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Team-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to safely use cleaning solutions and operate production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers and greet them with good quality food.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and associates.
• Make clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods in accordance with company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Monitor product quality; ensure it is fresh and safe at all times.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
• Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils per policies and procedures.
• Maintain signage, rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities safely per company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, and to State and Federal laws.
• Operate cash register per company procedures.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a respectful and cooperative manner.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues for customers and business.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
