Job summary

Tony's Fresh Market in Niles, IL is seeking a Meat Cutter to perform various meat cuts, stock and price departments, and ensure quality and safety in our fresh and frozen sections.

Role requires strong customer service, ability to follow procedures, and bilingual English/Spanish communication; HS diploma or GED is required. You will work with a team in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Basic kitchen skills; familiar with food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Stock merchandise in fresh and frozen cases.
• Receive and process incoming shipments per procedures.

Job Summary

The Meat Cutter performs various cuts for meat items in constant meat cutting with knife and/or saw machine.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible with stocking merchandise in both the fresh and frozen cases
• Follows established department procedures for receiving incoming shipments
• Product pricing
• Ensures product's quality, protections, accuracy and proper rotation in coolers
• Rewraps meat packages as needed
• Constant meat cutting with knife and/or saw machine
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements
• Ensures great customer service

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
• Basic kitchen skills; familiar with food preparation.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Efficiency and expertise in using cutting knives and tools
• Ability to properly communicate with co-workers and customers
• Ability to follow the positions responsibilities and guidelines

Physical Demands And Work Conditions

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
• Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

The pay scale above is the hourly wage range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position.

• Manager roles have a bonus target potential paid out quarterly based on company results/metrics.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and other factors including, but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
