Job summary

El Super #36 in Salinas is seeking a Meat Cutter 2 under direct supervision. The role breaks, cuts, and prepares meat products using hand tools and power equipment, trimming to company standards and preparing items for display or customer orders.

You will work with meat clerks and the meat manager to determine cutting needs, provide excellent customer service for special orders, and perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, bending, standing, and kneeling as required.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.
• Must be able to perform very heavy lifting, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Breaks, cuts, and prepares meat products using hand tools and power equipment.
• Meat products are prepared for display or as ordered by customers.
• Works with customers to take special orders.
• Works with Meat Clerks and Meat Manager to determine which items need to be cut.
