Job summary

Busch's Inc. in Michigan is hiring for a Meat/Seafood Department role. Starting wage up to $21.60/hr with experience, with a family-owned team focused on service and product knowledge.

Three years in the Meat/Seafood Department are preferred, along with cutting experience and knowledge of various cuts. Strong communication and merchandising skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the Meat/Seafood Department.
• Cutting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of various beef, pork, veal, lamb and poultry cuts.
• Food safety certification preferred.
• Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and listening skills.
• Proficient selling skills, including asking questions and product recommendations.
• Proficient merchandising skills to ensure fresh and appealing displays.
• Proficient cleaning abilities to meet sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Build department sales by answering questions and assisting guests with purchases.
• Make recommendations on cuts, preparation methods, and meal suggestions.
• Determine cutting needs based on guest demands.
• Custom cut meat products according to guest requests.
• Cut and process all fresh meat products according to quality specs.
• Receive, verify and store department deliveries.
• Package and price product.
• Rotate and cull product to ensure freshness.
• Scan waste to record shrink.
• Grind meats following procedures.
• Promote products by offering samples.
• Set and maintain service and self-service cases.
• Clean and sanitize department, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow safe food handling and personal hygiene practices.
• Follow safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout of equipment.
• Prepare product and orders to specifications.
• Adhere to Busch's policies and procedures.
• Build strong guest/vendor/associate relationships.

• Follow safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout of equipment
• Ensure all product, ready to heat items and special orders are prepared to specifications
• Adhere to all Busch's policies, practices and procedures
• Build strong working relationships with guests, vendors and associates
• Exemplify key concepts of hospitality when interacting with guests

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Minimum 3 years' experience in the Meat/Seafood Department
• Cutting experience preferred.
