Job summary

ewj is seeking a Meat Cutter for its grocery department in Waynesboro, Tennessee. You will ensure fresh, high-quality meat and poultry are stocked, cut, weighed, wrapped, and merchandised, while delivering outstanding customer service and helping with front-end duties as needed.

Responsibilities include operating meat saws, slicers, grinders, and wrapping machines safely, training apprentices, checking in vendors, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Retail or grocery experience in meat department preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Minimum age 18 years old.
• Capable of lifting up to 80 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Regularly cutting all meat products.
• Provide training to butcher apprentices.
• Wraps raw meat and chicken products.
• Assist customers with specific needs.
• Cleans and sanitizes meat preparation area.
• Keeps meat counters, shelves and freezers stocked and clean.
• Operates grinder to prepare ground beef for packaging.
• Ensures proper rotation of fresh meat and seafood products.
• Follows safety and security procedures.
