Job summary

Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to join our Meat Team. You will cut meat and other products for sale, prepare orders, and maintain freshness and presentation to meet customer expectations.

You will support the Meat Lead, provide excellent guest service, and grow into leadership roles while ensuring safety, quality, and accuracy in all tasks. This on-site position offers a competitive starting wage and benefits.

Qualifications

• 0–6 months experience requested or desired.
• Prior experience in the field or related field is acceptable.
• No High School diploma required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat to customer specifications and package for sale.
• Prepare ground meat and assist in special orders.
• Rotate and check code dates to ensure guest safety.
• Wrap and maintain meat case; unload deliveries as needed.
• Maintain meat cooler and freezer efficiency and cleanliness.
• Provide excellent customer service and suggest products to customers.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company principles in daily work.
