Job summary

Food City in Alabama offers a clerical role in the meat department focused on cutting, merchandising, and customer service. The position includes assisting with ordering and stocking, rotating stock, and maintaining clean, compliant display cases.

Ideal candidates may have meat cutting experience or be new to the role, but must meet physical demands and follow instructions. On-site shifts and adherence to time policies are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meat cutting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Cut and merchandise fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying products.
• Grind meat and slice meat.
• Assist in organizing cooler arrangement and stocking of cooler.
• Rotate product to ensure freshness and safety.
• Maintain neat and clean display cases and work area.
• Maintain good code dates on all product in display cases.
• Sanitize and disinfect department twice daily.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Support HACCP program compliance.
