Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Allentown is seeking a Meat Coordinator to ensure fresh products, proper display, and stock levels. You will work with a team to keep the department running smoothly and assist customers with product questions and meal ideas.

• Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department.
• Maintain the overall appearance of the department, ensure fresh product and levels are sustained, items are well-merchandised in innovative, eye-appealing displays and stocked in correct locations, while recognizing seasonal, holiday and weather effects on product sales.
• Proactively approach customers, assist them in locating products throughout the department, provide suggestions for meal solutions, and answer any questions they may have about products.
• Understand how products look/taste at peak of perfection, ensure use core recipes and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome.
• Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink.

In the role of Meat Coordinator, you’ll work with a team to ensure the best and freshest meat items are in stock, displayed creatively, and available for customers. Required Qualifications

• Experience utilizing a variety of cooking techniques
• Experience working in a butcher shop
• Managerial/supervisory experience
• Experience with or knowledge of different cuts of meat and poultry
