Job summary

El Super in South Gate, CA is hiring a Meat Clerk to join our fast-paced store operations team. The role includes friendly customer service, assisting with meat displays, and coordinating with the Meat Cutter on item preparation. Starting wage is $16.90 per hour.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifts up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, the Meat Clerk provides friendly, courteous and helpful customer service.
• Assists customers, cleans shelves and display cases, and rotates the Meat Wrap displays.
• Works with customers on special orders and with the Meat Cutter to determine items to be cut.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods.
