Responsibilities

• Practice safe food handling and maintain high product knowledge and preparation techniques.
• Receive, store, and grind meats.
• Unload and transport meats from delivery truck.
• Count and weigh incoming items; verify against invoices.
• Inspect meats in storage and rotate stock to avoid aging.
• Be aware of weekly ad items and promotions.
• Keep work area clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment.
• Follow safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes.

Full Time Vista, CA, US

Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.00 Hourly

• Practicing safe food handling procedures and a high level of product knowledge and preparation techniques
• Receives, stores, and grinds meats
• Unloads and transports fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck
• Counts and weighs incoming articles and compares results against an invoice
• Examines meats in storage and rotates meats to avoid aging
• Knowledge of weekly ad items
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.)
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Have and show an outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and the ability to interact with our customers.
• Have good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, knives, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, balers, and other heavy machinery.

Other Information

Work Hours: Availability requirements include; but are not limited to; days, evenings, weekends, & holidays.
