Job description

Advance your career in a community of professionals who are committed to excellence in everything they do.

Take Your Career to the Next Level with Bee Window!

Company Overview: Bee Window is Indiana's leading residential window and door installation company, with a dominant statewide presence built over 42 years. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the company has grown into a metrics driven, full service operation known for white glove installation and a relentless commitment to quality. Bee Window has successfully expanded into ancillary markets and continues to grow sustainably, with strong lead generation and marketing at the core of how they win business. Despite the growth, Bee Window has maintained a small company feel where employees see the full picture, contribute across functions, and have real opportunities to make an impact.

Role Overview:

The Measure Technician verifies every sold project before materials are ordered. You will schedule and complete in-home measures that confirm dimensions, product specifications, site conditions, and installation scope. Because a single measuring error can mean a costly reorder, a pushed install date, and a frustrated homeowner, this role directly protects margin, the install schedule, and the customer experience that drives Bee Window's referral pipeline.

This role reports directly to the VP of Operations and works closely with the back office, sales, and field operations teams to flag change orders and any gaps between the sold scope and what the homeowner expects.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and complete technical measures on sold contracts, capturing accurate window and door measurements, scope confirmation, site conditions, and every other detail the install team needs for a successful installation.
  • Confirm that the sold scope of work matches both the conditions in the home and the homeowner's expectations, and flag any misalignment to the back office before product is ordered.
  • Identify and document change orders, working with the back office and sales teams to resolve them quickly so orders and install dates stay on track.
  • Submit complete, accurate measure packets promptly, consistently reducing the time from measure packet out to measure packet in.
  • Deliver a professional, courteous in home experience at every appointment that reflects Bee Window's white glove standard and earns strong customer satisfaction scores.
  • Partner with Bee Window and Mosaic leadership to build a measure technician handbook that standardizes process, tools, and quality expectations across the measure function.
  • Onboard, train, and manage future measure techs as the team grows, holding them to the same standard of accuracy and customer experience.
  • Test new measuring tools and technology to make second measure appointments faster and more accurate, and share clear feedback with both Bee Window and Mosaic leadership.
  • Track and report on the key performance metrics for the role, including time from measure packet out to measure packet in, measure accuracy, and measure customer satisfaction.

Role Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience in residential window and door measuring, installation, or home improvement, with replacement window experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of window and door styles, rough openings, and field measuring techniques, paired with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to spot scope, site, or product issues in the home and work with the office to resolve them before they reach the install crew.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust with homeowners and clearly relay project details to sales, the back office, and field operations.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing a full daily schedule of in home appointments, along with using tablets, mobile apps, and digital measuring tools.
  • Prior experience training or leading others is preferred, along with a genuine interest in building and managing a team.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to customer homes daily within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, measure at height, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Logistics :

  • Reports to the VP of Operations.
  • Full time position based out of the Bee Window office in Fishers, IN.
  • Daily travel to customer homes across Northern and Central Indiana.
  • Ability to complete a standard background check.
  • Company Car
  • Medical Insurance
