Job summary

St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City is seeking part-time drivers for its Meals on Wheels program at Downtown and Asbury campuses. You will prepare and package meals and deliver them to seniors in your own vehicle, typically 9:30 a.m.

to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Responsibilities include collecting meals, maintaining insulated bags, assisting with portioning, and treating clients with dignity.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to pass an Oklahoma background check.
• Must be able to download and comfortably use technology, including computers, smartphones, applications and online maps.

Responsibilities

• Pick up meals daily at the Asbury Campus location and deliver them to homes of senior clients.
• Clean out and return insulated boxes or bags at the start of the next shift.
• Portion meals into trays to be sealed and sort into bags for delivery.
• Treat each client with dignity and respect.
• Maintain professional conduct with clients, staff, visitors, and the public.

St. Luke’s is the administrator of Meals on Wheels Oklahoma City. We deliver more than 500 hot meals to senior citizens each weekday.

We currently have a need for Part-Time Drivers for our Meals on Wheels Program at our Downtown and Asbury Campuses.

Position Purpose:

Drivers assist in the preparation and packing ofhot, nutritious lunch meals Monday through Friday, thendeliver them directly to the homes of senior citizensusing your own vehicle.Hours are from 9:30 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m.Monday through Friday from St. Luke’s Meals on Wheels kitchen at1320SW 38th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73119.

Essential Functions:

• Pick up meals daily at theAsbury Campus location and deliver them directly to the homes of senior adult clients
• Clean out and return insulated boxes or bags at the start of the next shift.
• Additional responsibilities may include portioning food into trays to be sealed, then sorting them into bags for delivery
• Treat each client with dignity and respect
• Maintain professional conduct while working with clients and staff, as well as visitors and the general public

Position Details:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass an Oklahoma State required background check
• Must be able to download and comfortably use technology, including computers, smartphones,applications and online maps, without assistance.
