Job summary

Magnolia Science Academy Santa Ana is seeking a part-time Meal Server to join our campus dining team. You will manage daily serving areas, assist with meal distribution, and ensure students receive all reimbursable components with proper portions.

The role requires CPR and Serve Safe certifications, strong organizational skills, and the ability to interact positively with children. Training on Food Safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• Serve Safe Food Handling Certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain school meal serving areas and take accurate temperature readings.
• Count breakfasts, lunches, and suppers after delivery and compare to the delivery sheet.
• Ensure meals are not spoilt; report any spoiled meals to vendor and school meal manager.
• Prepare area for serving and set up the lunch line.
• Ensure serving line has appropriate posters and notifications.
• Serve breakfast, lunch and supper to all students.
• Ensure students take all components of a reimbursable meal (milk, fruit, etc.).
• Monitor daily food waste.
• Keep transportation records, menus, and temperature logs organized.
• Direct any meal program complaints to the Meal Program Manager.
• Be main contact for meal vendor if Meal Program Manager is absent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily:

• Maintaining the school meal serving areas, including taking accurate temperature readings of the food and milk
• Counting breakfasts, lunches, and supper after they are delivered and comparing them to the delivery sheet and reporting any inconsistencies.
• Ensuring that the meals are of good quality and not spoilt. If there are any meals that are of bad quality, he/she must promptly report this to the vendor and to the school meal manager.
• Preparing area for serving by cleaning area using cleaning methods as described in the Food Safety Handbook, and by setting-up the lunch line.
• Ensuring serving line contains the appropriate posters and notifications.
• Serving breakfast, lunch and supper to all students
• Ensuring that students are taking all of the components of a reimbursable meal. (Milk, fruit, etc.)
• Monitoring daily food waste
