Job summary

Momentum Engineering, Inc. seeks a Data/Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and sustain secure dataflow and system solutions in a mission-critical environment.

The role spans systems and data engineering with compliance oversight to enable reliable ingestion, transformation, and routing across enterprise platforms. You will provide technical direction across the full lifecycle, ensuring alignment with policy and data governance while supporting evolving mission data needs.

Qualifications

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (MD Customer).
• Bachelor's Degree with 20 years' experience.
• Experience planning and integrating secure, compliant systems and dataflow solutions.
• Strong background in data engineering and systems engineering principles.
• Experience defining and documenting system interfaces and data flows.
• Proficiency with Apache NiFi or similar dataflow tools.
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Experience working with structured data formats (XML, CSV, JSON).
• Experience with database technologies (MySQL and/or NoSQL).
• Experience performing data mapping, transformation, and ingestion.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and integrate secure, compliant dataflow solutions aligned with legal, policy, and mission directives.
• Provide technical leadership across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and sustainment.
• Define system interfaces, including data origination, destination, stimulus, and data characteristics.
• Develop and implement data engineering solutions to support ingestion, transformation, and routing of enterprise data.
• Analyze and work with IC-provided datasets to identify, map, and model data transformation routines.
• Document and maintain data flows, routing logic, and system interfaces to support enterprise data repositories.
• Utilize tools such as Apache NiFi to support data ingestion, processing, and workflow automation.
• Work within Linux environments to develop, deploy, and maintain data solutions.
• Interact with data ontologies and schemas, including structured data formats such as XML, CSV, and JSON.
• Execute analytic queries and support data analysis across enterprise platforms.
• Ensure solutions align with policy, compliance, and data governance requirements.

Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.
