SalaryRange: $69,388.00 to $104,083.00 per year. Hiring Range: $77,884.00 to $86,736.00. Thisis an exempt (salaried) position. Payrates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity.Internal equity considerations include an assessment of the applicant’s salaryhistory and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirementsfor the job.

The Mecklenburg County MedicalExaminer's Office (MCMEO) mission is to provide county morgue and medicalexaminer/forensic pathology services to the residents of Mecklenburg County.The MCMEO interacts with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies toassist in death investigations, reporting their findings on the cause andmanner of death.TheMCMEO alsoprovidesconsultation and forensic pathology services to oneregional county: Cleveland.
Onsiteposition based out of the ME Office located at 3440 Reno Avenue,Charlotte, NC 28216.
MEInvestigations Supervisor for 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift. 10-hour shifts for 4 days per week,with a 3-week rotation cycle.
Experience:
Required to have ABMDI certification at hire date and must be maintained while employed in this position.
Current appointment as a Medical Examiner by the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner OR required to receive appointment as a Medical Examiner for Mecklenburg County within 1 year of hire date.

Licenses and Certifications:
Current appointment as a MedicalExaminer for Mecklenburg County by the NCOCME.
Knowledge of
All federal, state and local regulatory requirements applicable to vital statistics recordation, laboratory operations, public records laws and rules of evidence
Death scene investigation procedures
Established laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures governing the receipt, storage and release of bodies
Microscopy, toxicology, ballistics and investigative techniques as they related to forensic medicine.
Rules of evidence as they apply to the preservation of specimens from a post-mortem examination
