Responsibilities

  • Complete accurate MDS assessments, coding, and documentation to support quality care and appropriate reimbursement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
  • Experience with MDS 3.0 and the RAI process preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare PPS, Medicaid reimbursement, Case Mix, OBRA regulations, Quality Measures, and the RAI User's Manual.
  • Current BLS/CPR Certification (if required by the facility).
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Coordinate the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process from admission through discharge in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.
  • Complete accurate MDS assessments, coding, and documentation to support quality care and appropriate reimbursement.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop assessment schedules, coordinate care plan meetings, and ensure timely completion of resident assessments.
  • Review clinical documentation to ensure it supports MDS coding and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate resident information within computerized MDS software systems.
  • Assist with daily clinical meetings, assessment reference date (ARD) scheduling, and care management activities.
  • Stay current on federal and state regulations related to MDS, reimbursement, and long-term care documentation.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives that enhance resident care and facility performance.
