Job summary

Heartwood Extended Health Care in Tacoma, Washington is seeking an MDS Coordinator Nurse to perform assessments of new residents and transmit MDS report forms for billing while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This role reports to the administrator to maintain high-quality resident care.

The position requires an active WA RN or LPN license, 2+ years in post-acute or skilled nursing settings, and experience in supervision and education.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Clear & Active WA RN or LPN license.
  • Minimum two years of post-acute/ skilled nursing facility experience.
  • Experience in supervision and teaching.
  • DSD certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate training programs for staff.
  • Develop and control quality of in-service educational programs.
  • Maintain records, reports, and instructional materials for training.
  • Complete forms, reports, and attendance records for training.
  • Provide written/oral reports to the administrator on training programs.
  • Collaborate with business office to ensure correct benefits for employees.

Job Summary

Heartwood Extended Health Carein Tacoma, Washington is seeking an MDS Coordinator Nurse to perform assessments of new patients and transmit MDS report forms for billing purposes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Essential Position Duties:
  • Plan, develop, direct, evaluate, and coordinate educational and on-the-job training programs.Incorporate commercially produced instruction material and training aids into existing in-service programs as deemed necessary.
  • Develop, evaluate and control the quality of in-service educational programs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Secure, develop and maintain records, reports, instructional manuals, reference materials, etc., pertinent to in-service educational programs.
  • Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, class attendance and subject records, etc.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the administrator concerning in-service training programs.
  • Work with business office in order to makes sure that all employees receive the correct benefits packages
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
  • Must possess a Clear & Active LPN or RN license in WA.
  • DSD Certified preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a post-acute/ skilled nursing facility, LTC or hospital
  • Must have experience in supervision and principles, practice of teaching, etc.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
