The MDM Architect / MDM Technical Lead is responsible for providing end-to-end technical leadership across the Product Master Data Management (MDM) ecosystem.
This role oversees solution architecture, system integration, and delivery governance for a landscape centered on Oracle Product Data Hub (PDH) and integrated with Supplier Exchange, Item Maintenance applications, WebMethods, Databricks Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), machine learning enrichment layers (TAMR / Oracle AI), and Hybris.
The position acts as a bridge between architecture and execution, ensuring technical integrity, scalability, operational reliability, and cross-team alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical design authority for the Product MDM ecosystem, defining integration patterns, data models, and architectural standards across Oracle PDH and supporting platforms.
- Lead end-to-end solution assessments for new requirements, enhancements, and integrations to ensure scalability, data quality, and resilience.
- Collaborate with data engineering, application, and integration teams to maintain architectural consistency.
- Drive the transition of ML enrichment capabilities from TAMR to Oracle AI, including defining supporting design principles and data flows.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools to strengthen the MDM and enterprise data landscape.
- Contribute to technology strategy and roadmap development in partnership with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Program Managers.
- Align solutions with enterprise architecture standards and broader data strategy initiatives.
Delivery Oversight & Operations Leadership
- Oversee technical delivery governance, including estimation accuracy, dependency management, and cross-team alignment.
- Partner with Product Owners and Project Coordinators to refine technical stories, prioritize backlogs, and validate feasibility.
- Track technical progress, identify risks and dependencies, and elevate issues proactively.
- Define and enforce operational standards related to SLAs, uptime, incident response, performance, and MTTR.
- Support release planning and ensure smooth handoffs between build and operations phases.
- Facilitate postmortems and drive continuous improvement across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (required).
- Master’s degree in a related discipline (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise data, MDM, or integration architecture roles, including 3–5 years in technical leadership or delivery oversight.
- 5+ years of hands-on and architectural experience with Oracle PDH or similar Product MDM platforms.
Proven ability to coordinate across multi-team delivery models and influence without direct authority.- 3+ years of experience with data integration frameworks, API design, WebMethods, or equivalent middleware solutions.
- 3+ years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS) and modern data engineering patterns.
- 1–3 years of experience with DevOps practices, SLAs, incident management, and performance optimization.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting data pipelines for machine learning or enrichment use cases.
- Exposure to low-code / no-code application platforms.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks including lineage, stewardship, and metadata management.
- Background in regulated or enterprise-scale industries such as life sciences, manufacturing, or healthcare.
Certifications
- Certifications related to Oracle, data architecture, cloud technologies, MDM, or integration platforms (preferred).
