AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to maintain the Model Assessment Limitations Tracker (MALT) and related documentation.

The role requires deep experience in systems modeling or M&S, strong writing and reporting skills, and collaboration with engineering teams. The ideal candidate holds an MS/MA with 12+ years of experience or a BA/BS with 20+ years as a substitute, plus an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Requires MS/MA with 12+ years of experience or BA/BS with 20+ years in lieu of MA/MS.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Attention to detail and understanding of ground test scheduling and Accreditation Assessment Report/memo process.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work with engineering staff and understand M&S terminology.
  • Background in Systems Engineering or Weapon Systems modeling for MDA M&S efforts.
  • Knowledge of SCM processes to translate physical systems into abstract requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Update MALT with status on open limitations/watch items at fiscal quarter end.
  • Annotate MALT items during ground test events and when items are added/closed/archived.
  • Maintain and update all MALT supporting documentation for reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with M&S Requirements team and MDS elements to develop SCMs.
  • Assist in developing M&S SRDs.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, generate reports and briefings.

AV is looking for a highly talented Database Administrator to join our team! In this role you will maintain the Model Assessment Limitations Tracker (MALT) and associated supporting documentation.

  • Update MALT with status on open limitations/watch items at the end of each fiscal quarter
  • Update MALT to annotate limitations/watch items assessed during ground test events and when limitations/watch items are added, closed, or archived
  • Maintain and update all MALT supporting documentation to meet reporting requirements
  • Work with Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Requirements team and Missile Defense System (MDS) elements to develop and document simulation conceptual models (SCMs)
  • Assist in the development of M&S System Requirements Documents (SRDs)
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, generate reports and briefings
Required
  • Master of Science or Master of Arts degree and 12+ years of experience. OR a BA/BS degree from an accredited institution of higher learning and 20+ years of experience in lieu of the MA/MS degree requirement.
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Attention to detail; understand ground test scheduling and Accreditation Assessment Report and memo process
  • Expert with Microsoft Office -- Word, Excel, PowerPoint -- and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work well with engineering staff and understand M&S terminology
  • Systems Engineering and/or Weapon Systems modeling background to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) efforts to develop system level M&S requirements for its distributed M&S federation
  • Apply simulation conceptual modeling (SCM) processes which essentially translate the physical representation of a real system into suitable abstractions that result in requirements that drive the development of the distributed M&S federation
  • Demonstrated the ability in systems thinking and familiarity with defense systems
