Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix seeks a director for the MD/PhD Program. The role leads recruitment, curriculum design, evaluation, and financial management, guiding a growing dual-degree track within a dynamic biomedical research and medical education environment.

The successful candidate will be a physician-scientist with excellence in teaching and research, able to coordinate across campuses and mentor trainees while aligning with College and University guidelines.

Qualifications

• Hold an MD and PhD from an accredited institution.
• Have or be qualified for a faculty appointment at the rank of associate or full professor.
• Be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Arizona.
• Be eligible for clinical privileges at Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix, Phoenix Children’s or Phoenix VA Health Care System.
• Have a track record of publishing research findings.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight, growth strategies and assessment for the MD/PhD Program.
• Responsible for oversight of the MD/PhD students.
• Provide mentorship for all MD/PhD students.
• Organize program meetings to establish policies, evaluation systems, and academic progress tracking.
