Job summary

Ladders is seeking an MD/DO Behavioral Health Psychiatry leader for a remote role in the Finance & Insurance sector. You will contribute medical expertise to behavioral health delivery, guide pre-authorization and case management, and influence care management decisions across teams.

The role focuses on utilization management, medical policy interpretation, and collaboration with clinician reviewers to strengthen clinical decision-making and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• MD/DO board certification with unrestricted license in primary care specialties.
• Completion of Psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship for Child Psychiatrist role.
• Knowledge of Utilization Management principles and URAC Health UM Standards.

Responsibilities

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a MD Behavioral Health Psychiatry to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This remote role will provide medical expertise in behavioral health delivery systems and treatment protocols, with a strong focus on utilization management and case oversight. The physician will partner with clinician reviewers and other internal stakeholders to guide pre-authorization, medical necessity, and care management decisions. This position also supports policy interpretation, trend analysis, and committee participation to help strengthen clinical decision-making and operational effectiveness.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $214,100 – $297,885 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide medical expertise in health care delivery systems and treatment protocols for behavioral health
• Guide clinician reviewers on pre-authorization and case management decisions
• Consult on medical necessity and appropriateness issues for behavioral health cases
• Participate in planning and managing complex cases, and communicate plans to providers
• Interpret medical policy and assist with policy assessments and recommendations
• Analyze data to identify trends and issues in utilization management
• Participate in internal or external committees as assigned

Qualifications

• Board certification as an MD or DO with an unrestricted license in primary care specialties
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience and three years in medical management within a managed care setting
• Completion of an approved residency in Psychiatry and an accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship for the Child Psychiatrist role
• Child Psychology Board eligible by start date for the Child Psychiatrist role
• Knowledge of Utilization Management principles and URAC Health UM Standards
