Job summary

Labcorp in St. Paul, MN is seeking a Technologist Trainee to join the overnight team (Thu–Sun, 9:00 pm–7:30 am). You will receive specimens, perform extractions and analyses, and help ensure accurate reports with proper documentation.

New grads welcome; full training provided. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology; ASCP/AMT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred; prior Labcorp experience 3+ months is an asset.
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems is expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens for testing and evaluate orders, maintaining turnaround times.
• Adhere to SOPs during extractions and analysis on client samples and controls.
• Prepare reagents and standard solutions per SOP; calibrate and maintain instruments.
• Evaluate data, identify errors, and generate final reports with GDP-compliant documentation.
• Maintain logs, QC records, and worksheets; perform routine maintenance as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Technologist Trainee join our team in St. Paul, MN. Work Schedule: Thursday - Sunday, 9:00 pm – 7:30 am (Some Overtime is required) New Grads Welcome – Full Training Provided

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Receive specimens for testing; evaluate specimens and test orders; determine priority of work and batches to maintain acceptable turn-around-time; recognize unacceptable and unusual specimens and handle appropriately.
• Adhere to SOP while performing extractions and analysis on client samples, quality control samples and proficiency samples.
• Prepare laboratory reagents and standard solutions according to SOP.
• Evaluate raw and final data for accuracy; recognize and correct errors and unusual results; interpret result to produce a final report; use GDP in all documentation.
• Maintain, calibrate and clean instrumentation; perform scheduled/routine maintenance and critical function checks; recognize significant changes in instrument function; troubleshoot as indicated.
• Follow quality control rules; monitor controls for error detection and take corrective action; maintain laboratory records, maintenance logs, quality control logs, reagent and standard logs, and worksheets.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experience 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Pay Range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour plus shift differential All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
