KBR is seeking a Shipboard Ordnance Equipment Mechanic to service diesel-powered LAV, AAV, M1A1, AVLB and artillery systems aboard ships as part of the USMC program. Duties include inspection, maintenance and repair of ordnance vehicles, and providing technical guidance to junior mechanics.
The role requires 4 years of related experience, training courses, and the ability to read manuals and schematics. U.S. citizenship and CAC/Base access are required; passport is recommended for travel.
MCPP: SHIPBOARD ORDNANCE (ARMORED VEHICLE) EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM, SAIPAN, OR DIEGO GARCIA. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy. We are seeking a Shipboard Mechanic (Motor Transport).
Performs basic automotive mechanic duties incident to inspection, maintenance, and repair of the Ordnance family of vehicles, (LAV, AAV, M1A1, AVLB and Towed Artillery) which are diesel powered vehicles having utility systems or special hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical systems features, and controls designed combat, logistical or other special applications. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Performs other tasks as assigned.
