Job summary

The MCPP - Shipboard Engineer (Construction) Equipment Mechanic position is located in Jacksonville, Florida, with duty assignment aboard a ship in Guam, Saipan, or Diego Garcia. No relocation is necessary.

The Marine Corps’ Prepositioning Program supports USMC and US Navy logistics. Responsibilities include high level preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline engines and related equipment, and providing technical guidance to less senior mechanics while supporting higher level

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of directly related work experience.
• Complete the Basic Engineer Program Mechanics Course, or equivalent.
• Complete the Engineer Equipment Chief Course, or equivalent.
• Must maintain a valid passport; must have a valid State Drivers License.
• U.S. Citizen; able to obtain CAC/Base Access and Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform high level preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment.
• Maintain equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and similar machinery.
• Provide technical assistance, guidance or training to lower level mechanics and assist higher level mechanics.
• Perform other tasks as reasonably assigned.

Program Summary

The Marine Corps' Prepositioning (MCPP) Program is based on Blount Island in Jacksonville, Florida, WITH DUTY ASSIGNMENT ABOARD A SHIP IN GUAM, SAIPAN, OR DIEGO GARCIA. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

Job Summary

Performs high level preventative maintenance and repairs to diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment such as tractors, power shovels, road machinery, air compressors, concrete mixers and other engine driven or towed construction equipment. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics and assists higher level mechanics. Performs other tasks as reasonably assigned.

• Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and Base Access.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
