Job description

MCPP Philippines: Engineering Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Perform the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment (HE) equipment and systems in support of the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program – Philippines (MCPP-PHIL). The MCPP-PHIL Engineering HE Mechanic will report directly to the MCPP-PHIL Engineering Maintenance Supervisor.

Initial training for this position and onboarding will occur in Jacksonville, FL with follow‑on USMC Contractor Replenishment Cell (CRC) training for ultimate placement in Subic Bay, Philippines.

Roles And Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance actions that follow the contract Statement of Work and adhere to Marine Corps policy and procedures.
  • Perform maintenance actions involving repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing HE equipment and systems.
  • Support equipment readiness, maintenance shop organization, control of maintenance assets, and provide advice on all matters relating to HE systems maintenance. Review invoices and requisitions to plan work activities.
  • Maintain proficiency in all maintenance functions.
  • Inventory repair parts and equipment and requisition replacement stock.
  • Provide requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies.
  • Comply with personnel and administrative policies, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Comply with established safety regulations, and method and procedures for handling and storing various equipment and materials.
  • Comply with MCPP-PHIL ISO policies and procedures, work specifications, and time schedules.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Associate degree and/or coursework towards a BS degree in mechanical engineering or another related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, professional certification, formalized training, or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Four years of progressive experience with specialized knowledge of maintenance and logistic support activities involving HE systems maintenance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a valid state Motor Vehicle Drivers’ License.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport.
  • Applicants must be able to pass an FBI Background investigation with no criminal, civil, or security violations.
  • Must be able to obtain a work visa and an Alien Employment Permit for the Philippines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • USMC MOS 1341.
  • Understanding of Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
  • Industry Certification.
  • Working knowledge of military storage procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of general maintenance procedures for military tactical equipment and supplies.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
