Job summary

KBR Careers seeks a MCPP Marine Diesel Mechanic to dismantle, repair, relocate, modify and install diverse marine machinery and systems such as propulsion machinery and anchor handling gear. You will mentor lower level mechanics and assist senior staff on complex tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a diesel mechanic apprenticeship, five years of related experience, completion of appropriate C-school, and the ability to obtain CAC and base access. Outdoor work is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Complete Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship or trade school.
  • Five years of directly related work experience.
  • Complete Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship or trade school.
  • Completion of military “C” school for Marine Diesel Engines or equivalent.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components of diverse marine machinery and their attachments.
  • Detailed knowledge of operating characteristics and installation/repair procedures and trade practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret symbols, layout sheets, diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC and Base Access.

Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics. Assists higher level mechanics. Performs other tasks as assigned.

Will be required to work outside for extended periods of times.
