Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship or trade school.
  • Five years of directly related work experience.
  • Completion of military C school for Marine Diesel Engines or equivalent.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in marine machinery.
  • Ability to read symbols, diagrams, schematics, and technical orders.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle, repair, relocate, modify, maintain, align, overhaul and install marine machinery and equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to lower level mechanics.
  • Assist higher level mechanics and perform related tasks as assigned.
  • Work outside for extended periods as needed.

## MCPP Marine Diesel MechanicApply: Jacksonville, Florida: Full time: Posted Today: R2130356**Title:**MCPP Marine Diesel Mechanic**Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!** **THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA** **Program Summary**The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program. For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.**GENERAL SUMMARY:**position performs duties involving the dismantling, repairing, relocating, modifying, maintaining, aligning This, overhauling and installing of a wide variety of marine machinery, equipment, and systems (i.e., propulsions machinery, anchor handling gear, etc.). Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level mechanics. Assists higher level mechanics.
