Job summary

MDI Prep in Houston is looking for highly skilled MCAT instructors to teach various subjects including Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Biology, and Biochemistry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the material and will help students master complex scientific concepts.

Responsibilities include teaching live classes, helping students with critical thinking strategies, and providing mentorship. We seek passionate educators with teaching experience who can connect concepts and enhance students' performance on the MCAT.

Qualifications

• Ability to teach complex concepts confidently without reliance on textbooks.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred.

Position Overview

MDI Prep Learning is seeking highly skilled and passionate MCAT instructors in the following subject areas:

• General Chemistry
• Physics
• Organic Chemistry
• Biology
• Biochemistry

Our instructors are expected to possess advanced mastery of the subjects they teach and must be able to explain complex scientific concepts without relying heavily on textbooks or scripted materials. We are looking for educators who truly understand the “why” behind the science and can help students apply concepts strategically on the MCAT.

Responsibilities

• Teach live online and/or in-person MCAT classes
• Break down difficult scientific concepts into easy-to-understand explanations
• Help students improve critical thinking and MCAT application skills
• Review passage‑based questions and testing strategies
• Provide guidance on timing, endurance, and exam confidence
• Support students through accountability and mentorship
• Participate in curriculum planning and instructional meetings

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Chemistry, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Biology, or Biochemistry
• Ability to teach concepts confidently without dependence on review books
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Passion for helping students succeed
• Healthcare, graduate, or professional school background preferred
