MasterBrand Cabinets LLC in Weslaco, TX is seeking a Quality Specialist to audit product and raw materials and advise the production and operations teams on sustainment or adjustments to meet customer requirements.

You will conduct in-process material analyses, inspect finished goods, interpret test results against specifications, participate in out-of-spec investigations, and serve as a technical liaison across departments while supporting 6S and the MasterBrand Production System.

  • Identify cabinet parts by species, size and style.
  • Understand safe handling of hazardous chemicals.

  • Receive, inspect and test raw materials; compare to specs and control limits.
  • Interpret results and recommend data release or adjustments; participate in investigations.
  • Perform visual inspections and act as liaison across departments, vendors, or contractors.
  • May train operators; use general hand tools and office supplies as needed.
  • Support 6S initiatives and the MasterBrand Production System (MPS).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Description:
Position Summary:

Quality Specialists are responsible for auditing product & raw materials while advising production & operations team members as process sustainment or adjustments are required to meet or exceed customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

In-person attendance. Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process raw materials or finished goods. Receive and inspect raw materials. Test & interpret results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release. Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions. Perform visual inspections of finished products. Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors. May train others including operators from production departments. May use general hand tools (such as hammers) and office supplies (such as staplers). Supports, maintains and sustains 6S initiatives. Supports Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS). Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience:

Read tape measures, measure parts, caliper, read order tickets. Ability to identify parts necessary to assemble cabinets doors, drawers and/or complete cabinets by species, size and style. Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials. Understanding of decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion. Learn to identify cabinet profiles and colors involved in cabinet manufacturing. Utilizes electronic email & document management software, and imaging / measurement equipment.

General Requirements:

Read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions. Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority. Follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding material and safety data sheets, lockout policy, and entanglement policy.
