Jacobs Hawaii seeks a Project Manager and/or Technical Lead to plan, direct, and monitor high-technical projects from concept through commissioning, including water treatment, pipelines, and transportation upgrades.

You will lead a multidiscipline team, mentor junior engineers, and drive business development while delivering on time and within budget. The role offers hybrid work and opportunities across our global company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct management experience for planning and design of projects and teams.
  • Hawaii P.E. license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Experience on statewide and county Hawaii projects.
  • Client-facing leadership and proposal development support.
  • Knowledge of state and county design standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from concept through design, construction services, and commissioning.
  • Direct and monitor multidisciplinary teams to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and designers; collaborate with senior staff for growth.

Your impact

As a key member of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects as the Project Manager and/or Technical Lead – planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of projects with high degrees of technical complexity from (but not limited to) the concept stage through detailed design, construction services, and commissioning. Among the many types of projects led by this team are pipelines, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and stormwater management in addition to transportation engineering projects from roadway modernization,, and complete streets and multimodal improvements. You will be leading a multidiscipline team to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. Also, you will have the opportunity to mentor and coach early and mid-career engineers and designers and to be mentored by senior staff. Nurturing your existing and developing new relationships, you will help to identify new opportunities in which Jacobs Hawaii can further service our clients and communities.

This role is located on the island of Maui and is aligned to the Honolulu office.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in direct management for planning and design of small to large projects and project teams
  • Hawaii Professional Engineer (P.E.)License (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Demonstrated experience working on successful projects for statewide and county agencies across Hawaii
  • Client facing leadership, serving as the point of contact, facilitating design/production meetings, and supporting proposal development
  • Working knowledge of applicable state and county design standards

  • Proven experience managing multi-discipline teams of design, scientific, and technology professionals
  • Strong networks and relationships with the County of Maui and State of Hawaii
  • Strong proposal and technical writing skills
  • Active in a professional organization
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

The base salary range for this position is $119,800.00 to $226,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
