Alignerr is seeking a Mathematics Researcher for a fully remote, hourly contract role. You will develop and review advanced mathematical problems, design robust problem statements, and evaluate AI-driven outputs to ensure correctness and logical rigor.

The work is asynchronous alongside AI researchers, with flexible pacing and independent task-based assignments. Ideal candidates hold a Master’s or PhD in Mathematics, with deep expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete math, and

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Mathematics or closely related field.
  • Deep expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics.
  • Ability to write and run code in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to rigorous proofs.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and rigorous structure.
  • Design complex problem statements that test and improve AI reasoning across algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, and related areas.
  • Evaluate AI-generated mathematical outputs for correctness, depth, and logical soundness.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to identify gaps in AI mathematical reasoning.
  • Ensure clarity, precision, and academic rigor across all deliverables.
  • Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace.

Mathematics Researcher (Masters/PhDs) - AI Training

What if your expertise in advanced mathematics could directly shape how AI reasons through the world's most complex problems? We're looking for Mathematics Researchers with Masters or PhD-level training to help build and refine the mathematical reasoning capabilities of cutting-edge AI models.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You'll work asynchronously alongside leading AI researchers — applying deep mathematical knowledge to challenges that genuinely push the boundaries of what AI can do.

What You'll Do
  • Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and rigorous structure
  • Design complex problem statements that test and improve AI reasoning across algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, and related areas
  • Evaluate AI-generated mathematical outputs for correctness, depth, and logical soundness
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to identify gaps in AI mathematical reasoning

Who You Are
  • Holder of a Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
  • Comfortable writing and running code in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or problem-solving
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented — you notice when a proof doesn't hold and know exactly why
  • Strong written communicator who can explain complex concepts clearly and precisely
  • Fluent in English
Nice to Have
  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI model assessment
  • Background in mathematical research, academic publishing, or technical writingFamiliarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary research teams
