Weekday AI is seeking a Mathematics-focused researcher to help strengthen AI model performance in the mathematics domain. You will collaborate with research teams to craft and evaluate advanced problems and provide clear written feedback.

The role is fully remote, based in the US/UK/Canada/Europe, as an independent contractor. 15–20 hours per week with potential extension, paid weekly via Stripe Connect.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mathematics from a top US, UK, Canadian, or European university.
• 2+ years of academic or professional experience in research/teaching or as a scientist/engineer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

This role is for one of Weekday’s clients.

We are currently helping hire for one of the leading AI labs (via one of our partners); supporting them in training their AI models.

Have you been curious about how LLMs generate expert-level answers and wanted to contribute to their development? There are knowledge gaps in specialized fields like Mathematics, and we need your expertise to help strengthen these models (and in turn, advance human understanding of these areas).

What exactly would you do?

• You’ll be working with research teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in the Mathematics domain.
• You will be creating and evaluating advanced mathematical problems and solutions, providing clear written feedback.

Requirements

Education: PhD in Mathematics from a top US, UK, Canadian, or European university

Work experience: 2+ years of academic (research/teaching) or professional (scientist, researcher, or engineer) experience

Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in English

Location: Remote (must be based in the US, UK, Canada, or Europe)

Benefits

• Compensation: $60 to $80 per hour
• Time commitment: 15–20 hours per week (with the possibility of extending to ~40)
• Project duration: Minimum 1–2 months, with rolling extensions
