Role Overview
Contribute advanced mathematical expertise to AI training work by creating, solving, reviewing, and validating programmatic mathematical tasks. You will turn mathematical problems into reproducible computational workflows, implement equations or algorithms, test special cases, and assess mathematical and numerical correctness.
Key Responsibilities
- Solve and validate advanced mathematical and computational problems.
- Translate mathematical requirements into precise, executable workflows.
- Implement mathematical workflows using Python and command-line-accessible tools.
- Automate calculations, numerical experiments, parameter sweeps, visualizations, and result validation with Python.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computational Science, Theoretical Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative field, or a BS in Mathematics or a related quantitative field plus 1 to 2 years of mathematics-focused professional or research experience at leading companies or institutions.
- Strong expertise in at least one area including applied mathematics, numerical analysis, optimization, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, algebra, geometry, mathematical modeling, or dynamical systems.
- Mathematics, research, applied mathematics, Python programming, and programming-language skills.
- Experience with programmatic mathematical tools such as Python, SymPy, SageMath, SciPy, CVXPY, NumPy, GNU Octave, Julia, or similar software. Equivalent command-line-accessible tools are acceptable.
- Useful Python tools include NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter, CVXPY, statsmodels, NetworkX, numerical solvers, optimization libraries, and domain-specific scientific packages. No individual library is required.
Work Terms
- Global, fully remote independent contractor engagement.
- Approximately 15 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule, with control over workdays and hours, including weekends, provided you remain active.
- Selected candidates should be ready to begin immediately and start their first task within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding.
Compensation
- The listed compensation range is $60 to $120 per hour, with role details indicating $80 to $120 per hour.
- Payment is output-based and paid per task that meets project specifications. Task completion time varies by experience and workflow, and minimum submission requirements apply.
