Job summary

Math Corps, powered by AmeriCorps and administered by Ampact, seeks Math Tutors to work in Minnesota schools, guiding groups of up to three students for 20–30 minutes of math practice each day. You’ll track progress, attend coaching sessions, and return students to their classrooms after each session.

You will be trained and supported as you help students build math skills and confidence, with opportunities to grow through coaching and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• 18 years of age or older with a highschool diploma or equivalent.
• A citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to succesfully complete a background check.

• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.

Position Summary

Math multiplies a student’s future opportunities, and we’re on a mission to make sure every student has the skills they need to succeed!

Join Math Corps as a Math Tutor and you’ll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. Not a math whiz? Not a problem – we’ll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Every school day you’ll see groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes of math practice. When your time together is up, you’ll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next group for tutoring. You’ll repeat until all your students are served.

With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you’ll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026-June 2027.

• 35 Hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
• Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)
• Monday-Friday (no weekends)
• Time off on holidays and school release days

Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week!
