Job summary

Ampact's Math Corps program seeks a Math Tutor to work in a local Minnesota school, helping students build math skills. You will tutor small groups (up to 3) for 20–30 minutes and guide them back to class, with ongoing coaching from on-site staff.

This AmeriCorps role trains you to deliver proven activities, with emphasis on reliability, following schedules, and documenting progress. The position includes a biweekly stipend and the chance to give back to the community.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Must be 18+ with high school diploma or equivalent.
• Citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Position Summary

Math multiplies a student's future opportunities, and we're on a mission to make sure every student has the skills they need to succeed!

Join Math Corps as a Math Tutor and you'll spend your days at a local school helping students improve their skills. Not a math whiz? Not a problem – we'll train you to deliver proven activities and coach you every step of the way!

How does it work? Every school day you'll see groups of up to 3 students for 20–30 minutes of math practice. When your time together is up, you'll help your students return to their classroom(s) and pick up your next group for tutoring. You'll repeat until all your students are served.

With the extra attention and support, incredible growth happens. As your students build their skills and confidence, you'll be there to encourage, celebrate, and cheer them on!

Essential Qualifications

By the time you begin your service with Math Corps, you should be:

Schedule

We are currently hiring for the 2026-27 school year. Positions run August 2026-June 2027.

• 35 Hours per week (less in weeks with holidays or school release days)
• Daytime hours (correspond with school start and end times)
• Monday-Friday (no weekends)
• Time off on holidays and school release days

Part-time positions are also available at 25 hours per week!

Compensation & Perks Package

Full-timeAmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks.
