Job summary

Mathnasium of Delaware is seeking tutors to work with elementary, middle, and high school students in a friendly, supportive setting. You don’t need to be a professional teacher; a strong math background and the ability to explain concepts clearly are most important.

You may be a high school student, college student, educator, or someone with quantitative experience. The role emphasizes math literacy and student engagement, with a pay range of $13.00–$17.50 per hour and a weekday‑evening

Qualifications

• Know your math, communicate it well and enjoy working with young people.
• Able to explain concepts in more than one way when a student doesn’t understand first time.
• Willing to learn Mathnasium’s instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Work face‑to‑face with students in a learning environment.
• Help students understand why math works, not just memorization of answers.
• Teach using the Mathnasium Method and customized learning plans.
• Provide individual attention to multiple students during a session.
• Encourage students, celebrate progress and build mathematical confidence.
• Keep brief, accurate notes about student progress.
• Collaborate with a team that enjoys math and teaching.
