Job summary

Suncoast Behavioral Health Center provides a structured Hospital/Homebound educational program for adolescents. You will lead a classroom and strive to maximize each student’s achievement while reviewing records to tailor instruction to individual needs.

The role requires a Florida Educators certificate (Math 6-12 preferred) and the ability to collaborate with psychiatrists, behavior analysts, therapists, and medical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university.
• Florida Educators certificate required by the Florida Department of Education. Math (grades 6-12) preferred.
• Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies. Ability to work with multi-level/multi-grade students in small class environment. Computer literacy. Commitment to facility mission and policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational leadership in the classroom and create a learning-friendly environment.
• Maximize the educational achievement of each student.
• Review student records to understand each student’s abilities and needs.
• Coordinate with on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team.
