Salary: $520,000.00 - $60,000.00

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to meet individual needs of students.
• Ensure that lesson plans meet state, district, and school requirements as well as the physical, emotional, and educational levels of each student.
• Work with students to provide consistent reinforcement to learning, continuous assessment of level, and continuous feedback for all learning activities.
• Teach a class or classes of children who are LD or BD or both and who are not able to function in traditional school programs off campus with assistance from a teacher’s assistant.
• Utilize IXL and MobyMax as a supplement curriculum and skill-builders.
• Work as a member of the treatment team to promote the growth of the children.
• Maintain a safe and trauma‑informed environment in the classroom, providing support and discipline to meet the needs of each student.
• Keep adequate records and reports on student progress and behaviors.
• Support school programming and operations as needed, and occasionally work evenings and/or weekends to support events.
• Other work as assigned.
• Must love students, have fun, and be a part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a Bachelor’s Degree and Substitute Teacher Certificate.
• Prior experience as a Teacher or Student Teacher working with LD and/or BD students.
• Missouri DESE Certification or eligibility to acquire MODESE certification.

Essential Functions and Physical Demands

They are frequently required to sit and occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision. The employee must maintain composure, professionalism, sound judgment, and ethical decisions in a variety of situations, including stressful and mentally challenging situations. Reliable transportation is required to travel and report to all worksites.
