Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking an individual to assist in academic support and tutoring for college-level math courses. The role requires attending class meetings, preparing weekly supplemental instruction labs, and meeting weekly with instructors to ensure course success.

The ideal candidate will have completed college-level math courses with strong outcomes and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel is required for MAT 120. This position may offer flexible work hours to accommodate students.

Qualifications

• Completion of college-level math courses with exceptional outcomes.
• Experience in tutoring or academic support is strongly desired.
• Preferential consideration for current York Technical College students.

Responsibilities

• Attend class meetings and take accurate notes.
• Prepare and conduct weekly SI labs for students.
• Meet with course instructor weekly to discuss labs.
• Attend supplemental instruction trainings.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans.
