A leading educational institution in Utah seeks Math Mentors to support students in Developmental Math courses. Responsibilities include one-on-one support, academic guidance, and connecting students with resources. Math Mentors (Developmental Math mentors) will play an important role in the success of students taking Developmental Math courses. Math Mentors will focus on supporting students in their assigned Developmental Math class, including encouraging positive behaviors like attending classes, completing assignments, talking with their instructor, persistence, connecting to resources on campus, preparing for class, etc.
Math Mentors will be hired in fall and complete training before spring semester. Time commitment for fall is between 5-10 hours per week to complete training.

Physical Requirements of this position Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
