Job summary

Catapult Learning seeks a Math/Literacy Tutor in Bridgeport, CT for in-person, part-time sessions Monday through Friday 8am to 12pm. You will provide reading, mathematics and writing support using company curriculum at partner schools.

The role requires an associate degree or 2 years of college, FBI/BCI background check, and teaching experience is preferred. Starting pay is USD 35.00 per hour, with professional development and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: associate degree or at least two years of college (48/72 hours).
• Licensed tutors: credentials recognized by the State as properly licensed.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to navigate online platforms for record keeping and communication.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and deliver prescribed instructional methods as determined by the Company.
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate services for students.
• Communicate and conference with parents providing information on student progress.
• Deliver prescribed instructional methods using Company materials and strategies.
• Attend training and deliver instructional models in reading, mathematics, and writing.
• Develop and maintain individualized lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting to sessions.
• Maintain student forms/files as required by Company and authorities.
• Attend meetings with Supervisors, teachers, principals, and parents.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Tutors will provide contracted instructional services with the necessary educational expertise in reading, mathematics, and writing for students.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose learning skill deficits and delivers prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Consult with school personnel to coordinate efforts in providing services to students
• Communicate and conference with parents providing information on student progress
• Deliver prescribed instructional delivery methods as determined by the Company
• Attend training sessions and deliver designated instructional models and strategies in readiness, reading, mathematics, and/or writing skills to students through the utilization of Company-designed materials and educational strategies.
• Develop and maintain individualized skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Ensure supervision of students, including escorting students safely to and from sessions.
• Establish and maintain student forms and files as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Attend and document meetings/training with Company Supervisors, classroom teachers, principals, and parents as required by the Company, local, state, and/or federal agencies.
• Maintain inventory of educational materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Non-licensed tutors: individuals with an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution of higher education; or at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Licensed tutors: teachers with proper credentials recognized by the State of [XXXX] as Properly Licensed Teacher.
• Tutors must complete an FBI/BCI background check.
• Teaching experience preferred.
