Job summary

Mathnasium of Astoria and LIC is seeking enthusiastic part-time Math Instructors to teach students from 1st grade through Algebra 2. You will use the Mathnasium Method in a semi-private setting (up to 4:1) or one-on-one, guiding students with customized learning plans.

We offer formal training, a supportive team environment, and growth toward leadership roles as the center expands. Compensation is competitive with bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven math content knowledge up to Algebra 2.
• Experience teaching or tutoring children ages 5–17 preferred.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach math in a semi-private setting (up to 4:1) or one-on-one using the Mathnasium Method.
• Guide students with customized learning plans to develop mathematical thinking.
• Provide occasional homework support aligned with teaching constructs.
• Track and assess student progress during sessions.
• Maintain a positive, productive, and engaging learning environment.

• Complete administrative tasks as assigned.

What You'll Do as a MathnasiumInstructor:

• Teach math to students in asemi-private setting (up to 4:1 ratio)or one-on-one, using theMathnasium Methodand curriculum.
• Guide students through customized learning plans to help them develop natural mathematical thinking skills..
• Provide occasional homework support in alignment with Mathnasium teaching constructs.
• Track and assess student progress throughout instructional sessions.
• Contribute to apositive, productive, and engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing training.
• Complete administrative tasks as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

• Exceptional math content knowledge and teaching skills, with competency through at leastAlgebra 2.
• At least1 year of experience teaching or tutoring mathto children ages 5–17.
• Ateaching certificationis a plus, andprior experience as a Mathnasium Instructor is a big advantage.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
• An energetic, patient, and confident personality with a passion for inspiring student
• Professionalism in interacting with students and parents.
• Must hold an undergraduate degree or be a college junior or senior studying a STEM (e.g. Math, Physics, Computer/Data Science) or quantitative fields (e.g. Finance/Accounting) or education-related field
• Availability to work3 PM-7 PM on at least 3 weekdaysand10 AM-2PM for 2-3 weekend shifts per month.

• Locations: Astoria location (2309 Broadway, Astoria, NY 11106) and the LIC-Sunnyside location (45-54 43rd St, Sunnyside, NY 11104)
• Compensation: Competitive hourly pay with bonus opportunities.
