Job summary

Kumon in Hoffman Estates is looking for a part-time tutor to assist mid and advanced level Math students. The position requires availability on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays with responsibilities including helping students understand and complete their worksheets.

The ideal candidate should possess strong Math skills, have at least a 2 or 4-year college education in Math or Engineering, and enjoy supporting learners in an educational environment.

Job description

Part time position. Hours are 5 to 7 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays, and 10 am to 12 pm Saturdays.

Help mid and advanced level Math students with the worksheets.

Curriculum

Includes topics to high school level Math:

• Fractions
• Order of Operations
• Algebra
• Quadratic Equations
• Logarithms
• Trig
• Differentiation
• Calculus

Be able to explain concepts clearly, considering the ability of the student.

Grade student work, and help them with corrections when needed.

Qualifications

• Strong Math skills.
• Prefer someone with 2 or 4‑year college education in Math or Engineering.
• Achieved very good grades in high school Math.
• Personable, and should enjoy helping students.
