Macmillan Learning seeks a Math Content Developer (Contract) to craft original math questions, hints, solutions, and feedback for our digital products. The role emphasizes understanding student misconceptions and designing targeted feedback to aid learning.
The position is remote (US), requires an MS or PhD in Mathematics, and offers flexible weekly hours between 20 and 40 with pay $25–$30 per hour. Prior higher-education teaching and content-writing experience are valued.
Every math problem a student sees in one of our digital products has to do two things at once: test whether they've actually understood a concept, and help them figure out what went wrong if they haven't. That's the work you'd be doing.
As a Math Content Developer, you'll write the questions, hints, solutions, and feedback that make up our digital math products. The content needs to hold up not just mathematically, but pedagogically. You'll spend your time thinking about how students get stuck, what their mistakes actually reveal about their thinking, and how to write feedback that moves them forward instead of just telling them they're wrong.
This is a contract role, remote anywhere in the U.S., with flexible weekly hours between 20 and 40. We're only considering candidates with a MS or PhD in mathematics.
