Job summary

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is seeking a maternity leave teacher for the 2025-2026 school year in our Early Learning Center (Nursery–Kindergarten).

Collaborate with grade-level teams to plan developmentally appropriate curriculum, lead small groups, foster a warm and inclusive environment, and partner with co-teachers to support students' social-emotional and academic growth, including supervision during lunch and recess.

Qualifications

• Experience in early childhood classrooms.
• Knowledge of child development and social-emotional growth.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Effective communication with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with grade-level and classroom teams to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
• Lead and facilitate small group learning to support individualized instruction and growth
• Contribute to a warm, inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independence
• Partner with co-teachers to carry out daily classroom routines and support students' social-emotional and academic development
• Support classroom needs outside of teaching time, including lunch and recess supervision
