Job summary

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a part-time Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty to join the team. The role is a day shift position with responsibilities for accurate ultrasound screening and fetal assessment.

The candidate should have two years of hospital or clinic maternal-fetal ultrasound experience, RDMS OB/GYN, and BLS. Inova offers a strong benefits package and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required at start; NT program within 1 month if not yet certified.
• RDMS OB qualification required for consideration.
• Two years of hospital or clinic experience in maternal-fetal sonography.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and files with high accuracy; track patients per procedures.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, in-services and meetings.
• Demonstrate patient safety in the department and monitor patients.
• Report and correct adverse or unusual conditions via incident logs.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer Specialty Job Responsibilities

• Correctly identifies patients and their files ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mislabeled films and files. Tracks patients according to department procedures. Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections.
• Participates in department/hospital performance improvement initiatives, in-services, and meetings, as evidenced by attendance records.
• Demonstrates patient safety in the department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms, and patient monitoring, as demonstrated by risk management reports.
• Reports, documents, and corrects any adverse, unsafe, or unusual conditions, as evidenced by the patient/employee incidence reports to department-specific log books.

Minimum Requirements

• Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Upon Start; Successful completion of the Inova Nuchal Translucency (NT) Program is required within 1 month for team members without the Nuchal Translucency Certification.; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology Upon Start; Must be a registered diagnostic sonographer in OB to be considered for this job(ARDMS)
• Licensure - None required
• Experience - Two years of hospital or doctor's office-based experience in the performance of specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies
• Education - Degree from Accredited Sonography Training Program
